Graceful to its very core, Lingua Lustra sculpts an emotionally resonant piece on the lovely duality of “Music For Meditation”. Drawing heavily from Brian Eno’s work, these pieces embrace vast spaces. Quite elegantly executed Lingua Lustra references classical symphonic elements deep within the album’s DNA. The spaciousness of these sounds really comes to define the entire album: by letting everything simply soar off into the sky Lingua Lustra taps into an almost cinematic quality within the textures. Various electronic flourishes adorn the pieces while they drift with such a leisurely ease. The gentler of the two pieces, “One” comes into focus with great skill. Patience serves the track well for Lingua Lustra lets the peripheral quality of the texture come into view with such style. Upon becoming all-consuming Lingua Lustra allows for a little bit of tenderness to come into the previously icy atmosphere. As Lingua Lustra lets the sound become better realized some warmth enters into the equation. Gradually a thoughtful pitch shift akin to Eliane Radigue’s work comes into play with the track resembling an entire symphonic orientation to it, with occasional electronic elements pouring in. Much more tension and anxiety are in play with the closing “Two”. For this one opts for a more tactile style, one that settles into grooves and explores rhythm with such thoughtfulness. With “Music For Meditation” Lingua Lustra creates a vast space to get lost in, with mysterious twists and turns added in for further exploration. Beach Sloth
