Lingua Lustra references early electronic drone pioneers with the gracious “Song Of The Sun”. Subtle shifts in sound recall Eliane Radigue’s early works, with a shimmer that reveals their more contemporary origins. Done to the utmost of perfection the soothing sounds radiate up into the heavens. Everything comes together in a great and fine fashion, for these symphonies have an air of grandeur. Going for something that feels timeless, the sense of space and freedom that these pieces embody has a stately spirit to them. A bit of tenderness wanders in with the wonderful opener “State of The Heart”. Done with the greatest of care, the song is imbued with such strong emotion. The caressing presence of the wispy drone works wonders in creating a swirling sky of sound. Within the piece the true center comes from the thought-provoking melody that enters into the mix. Reminiscent of Spectrum Spools’ output, “Teleportation” shoots for a cosmic splendor, allowing the whole of the work to seemingly drift off into the infinite. By far the densest piece on the entire album emerges on the epic sweep of “Song Of The Sun”. Nearly silent at first, the song has a naturalistic presence to it while it unfurls with such delicacy, as it collects additional detail with each cycle. With “Song Of The Sun” Lingua Lustra crafts a soothing yet emotionally impactful piece of work, one where every element of the sound merges into a unified, coherent whole. Beach Sloth
